Mobile phones
In general the department can supply a mobile phone if required by your job. Model is decided by ITS. If a different model is required, different funding is usually required.
IT Support has a few phones for conferences or other temporary use. Contact itsupport@compute.dtu.dk to borrow one.
Mobile phones and SIM cards are ordered through itsupport@compute.dtu.dk.
Setup instructions are found under individual sections like e-mail, VPN, Eduroam or Android tips e.t.c.
Check your data usage and limits and ask for more
The standard DTU subscriptions with Telenor are 20GB/month. They can be extended if necessary. To order more data, please contact itsupport@compute.dtu.dk
You can see your current limits in DK and EU and what you have left this month by installing the app:
"My Telenor / Mit Telenor" on your phone. Choose "Business user or do you just want to see your data usage?".You get an SMS code to log in.
Extend time before call is transferred to answering service
The default setting is 15 seconds before unanswered calls are transferred to the answering service. With the DTU Telenor subscription, that time has often almost passed before your phone rings for the first time.
To extend the time to 30 seconds, Send an SMS to 1221 with:
VID **61* followed by 004560500000*11* followed by the wanted time (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30) followed by #
Activate by pressing the call key
Avoid spaces in the string you key in:**61*004560500000*11*30#
Work phone tax and private use of mobile phone
You may have to pay tax if you have a phone paid by Compute. For information about this, the use of the phone for private purposes and the information DTU collects in connection with your use of the phone
