News:2012-08-21- Changes to mailserver setup

Summary

AIT began the process of changing the common DTU exchange server from 2007 to 2010 Monday 21/8 by converting the webaccess (OWA) to Exchange 2010. This requires configuration changes on some email clients. However, it is quite likely that once the upgrade to exchange 2010 is completed (by moving the actual mailboxes to Exchange 2010, expected to be done before October 2012) the changes of settings listed below have to be reverted back to the original setting.

By end of September 2012 most IMM users mailbox has been moved to the the exchange 2010 server and the information below is no longer relevant for those users.

Changes to configurations of clients

Outlook

Outlook users might get a Window "Allow this website to configure XXX@imm.dtu.dk server settings https://legacy.win.dtu.dk/autodiscover/autodioscover.xml". Say yes and select "remember this decision".

Thunderbird

Users of Lightning plus Exchange 2007/2010 Calendar and Task provider need to change the Exchange (EWS) properties such that mail.win.dtu.dk is replaced with legacy.win.dtu.dk.

MacMail

MacMail users (and Calendar & Contacts) need to change the account setup for each of the 3 programs such that mail.win.dtu.dk is replaced with legacy.win.dtu.dk. Or delete the 3 accounts and create a new account.

Android users

Users should remove the mail account and set a new account up again using the server legacy.win.dtu.dk instead of mail.win.dtu.dk. See link 3 below.

Other devices

Generally remove the mail account and setup a new one like the previous, except that the server should be replaced from mail.win.dtu.dk to legacy.win.dtu.dk.
