Summary

DTUhas a new license server, license1.cc.dtu.dk, for Matlab and Maple. Almost all installations have to be updated before July 9th.

Details

The old license server ns.dtu.dk for matlab and bohr.gbar.dtu.dk for maple will be replaced by a new licence server license1.cc.dtu.dk on July 9th. The new license server has been functional since June 29th, i.e. there is a 10 day transition period. Within that period all matlab and maple installations should be updated (the Maple 13 license expired June 29th).

Matlab:

  • Installations having a stand-alone license (i.e. matlab can be used without having any network connection at all) are not affected.
  • Installations using the network license should edit the line
    from
    SERVER ns.dtu.dk INTERNET=130.225.88.2 1711
    to
    SERVER license1.cc.dtu.dk INTERNET=130.225.82.11 1711

    in the files <matlab install-dir>/etc/license.dat and/or <matlab instal-ldir>/licenses/network.lic

  • If running matlab via a ssh tunnel one should change the tunnel from using ns.dtu.dk to license1.cc.dtu.dk in the port forwarding set-up.

The <matlab install-dir> depends on the OS.

Maple:

  • Installations having a stand-alone license (i.e. maple can be used without any network connection at all) are not affected.
  • For version 12 and 13: Installations using the network license should edit the line
    from
    SERVER hald.gbar.dtu.dk ANY
    to
    SERVER license1.cc.dtu.dk ANY 1721

    in the file <maple install-dir>/license/license.dat
  • Maple 11 is no longer supported.
  • For Maple version 14, see http://www.gbar.dtu.dk/software

The <maple install-dir> depends on the OS.

IMM ITS will update installations on hms1, linuxgrid etc. and SUN servers.
