DTU Compute has two sets of mailing lists:

  • Lists based on position and section at DTU Compute. E.g. vip_stat 'at' compute.dtu.dk. There is a hierarchical structure; e.g. vip_compute 'at' compute.dtu.dk contains the union of vip_xx 'at' compute.dtu.dk where xx is the various sections at DTU Compute.
  • Lists based on position and office, e.g. phd_321 'at' compute.dtu.dk

A table of the lists can be found here PLEASE note access to this is only available from inside DTU Compute!

Notes

  • There exist the following categories for positions: VIP, VIPFACULTY, VIPRESEARCH, VIPEXTERN, TAP, TAPADM, TAPVID, PHD, STUD & GUEST
  • The following groups exist: ALGOLOG (Algoritms and Logics), COGSYS (Cognitive Systems), CRYPTO (Cryptology), DATA (Data analysis), DYNSYS (Dynamical Systems), ESE (Embedded Systems Engineerings), IMAGE (Image analysis), LBT (Language-based Technology), MAT (Mathematics), SC (Scientific Computing), SE (SW Engineering), STAT (Mathematical Statistics) and ADM (Administrative personnel).
  • VIPFACULTY is permanent VIP staff (which generally have teaching responsibilities), VIPEXTERN is normally "ekstern lektor" while VIPRESEARCH" is the remaining VIP (e.g postdoc, research assistant, etc.).
  • TAPADM is administrative doing task of general purpose at the department while TAPVID is administrative staff doing specific task for certain projects/sections.
  • VIP is the union of VIPFACULTY, VIPRESEARCH and VIPEXTERN
  • TAP is the union of TAPADM and TAPVID
  • STAFF is the union PHD, TAP and VIP
  • ALL is the union of STAFF, GUEST and STUD
  • COMPUTE is the union of of ADM, ALGOLOG, COGSYS, CRYPTO, DATA, DYNSYS, ESE, IMAGE, LBT, MAT, SE, SC and STAT
  • Mailing lists are created for 6 categories of offices. One for each of the buildings: 303, 305, 321, 322, 324 and 325.
  • Users can "belong" to multiple sections or groups or belong to multiple position categories (e.g. a student help is both a student and an employee)
  • Information comes from DTUBasen and is maintained there.
  • The STUD list is rather incomplete, i.e. does not list all students at the department, nor students doing their thesis at DTU Compute. Merely it list students which are using IT facilities at the department.
  • The mailing lists can be found under DTU Compute in the Outlook address book.
