Separate Google account for work phone or use private
You need a Google account for (almost all) Android phones. If you want to keep your private data separate from your work, you can make a new Google account for your work phone. This means that app backups, contacts e.t.c. are in separate accounts. Either way the accounts are yours, so DTU Compute cannot access them.
When you want to set up a new Android phone Google usually installs the app you had on your old phone. If you use one account, this may not be the apps you want.
Samsung account?
You do not need a Samsung account to use a Samsung phone, except for some special Samsung apps. Samsung tends to keep asking though, so it may be easier to make one.
Turn OFF Samsung pass
If the Samsung Pass window that covers your login in Android 8 annoys you, you can turn it off:
Go to Settings > General Management > Language and Input > Auto fill Service > None
No longer will it prompt you to use Samsung Pass when logging into a new app!
Track or Erase your Android Phone
With Google's Android Device Manager you can see your phone's last known location on a map, find it by making it ring for 5 minutes or erase it if it gets stolen.

Resetting Android phone to be used by new user
To avoid stolen phones being used, some phones from i.e. Samsung, needs to have the account removed by the original user, before it can be set up for a new user. Otherwise the phone cannot be set up again. The accounts should be removed under Settings | Accounts before resetting the device. If this is not done, the old account is needed when the phone is set up for a new user. If we cannot access the account, the phone cannot be used at all.
