Virtual Machines

DTU Compute manages the infrastructure to provide a virtual server for employees and students to run shorter or longer term projects on. Contact IT Support to request a machine, and please provide the following information:

  • Project or computer hostname
  • Resource requirements: CPU · RAM · Disk space
  • Special OS or software requirements
  • Port numbers that should be opened in the DTU firewall

Important

SSH (port 22) is generally not opened to the outside and will require a VPN connection. For web and database connections we encourage the use of encryption/SSL.
