Mounting
Linux
Mounting Windows (CIFS/SMB) shares on Linux via the commandline is done with this command:
sudo mount -o username=<username>,domain=win,uid=<uid>,gid=1040 <share> <mountpoint>where:
- <username>: your DTU username
- <uid>: numerical id for your user
- <gid>: numerical group id, set to the default group
1040(unixusers) - <share>: network share, eg. //nas1.compute.dtu.dk/groups
- <mountpoint>: path to mount the share, eg. /mnt/groups
Tip
Get your uid with the command id -u and all with id
Note
You will be asked for your password twice since:
sudois used asmountwith options needs admin privileges- to provide CIFS user credentials
